University of Florida Alumni Basketball Game

This will definetly be one of the more memorable events this weekend. South Florida turned out in large numbers once again to show support for one of our major universities. This basketball/charity event brought out the likes of N.B.A players Udonis Haslem, Joakim Noah and Taurean Green as well as a host of old Florida greats such as Teddy Dupay and Major Parker. The rafters of the Florida Atlantic University Gym were rocking with the cheers and applause of hundreds of families as the game proved to be truly an event for all ages.

Old Dillard Museum Visit

Today was one of those days when i felt a little nostalgic so i took a trip to the Old Dillard Museum. It's located at 1009 NW 4th Street here in Fort Lauderdale. While there i picked a copy of My Soul Is A Witness by Deborah Work, it's a book about the history of Fort Lauderdale's African American community. The museum is truly a walk through time and another of the many reasons i love this city so much.
